Teacher Training

Our Holistic 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training is a 9-month foundational program for understanding the therapeutic benefits of yoga, the mind-body connection, anatomy and kinesiology, the subtle body, and how to share these practices with others. In addition, this program is a transformative journey in using the tools of yoga to understand yourself on a deeper level.

With the guidance of experienced teachers and mentors, students will learn how to teach intelligently sequenced, safe and sustainable, and well-rounded classes to a variety of students, including asana/movement, pranayama {breathing practices} and meditation/guided relaxation.

I absolutely love how well-rounded and holistic the 200hr yoga teacher training at Embarque is. The variety of activities and assessments is very helpful not only in learning how to find my voice, but most importantly in creating a healthier relationship with myself. The support from my fellow teacher trainees and lead yoga teachers is unmatched and the enthusiasm presented by everyone is infectious. I have gained a deeper appreciation for various types of yoga and being open to new learning opportunities.
— Julie G.

It opened me up to a new approach to yoga and even though I have been practicing for many years, I learned more than I could have ever imagined.

Lead Teachers

Alyssa is passionate about sharing the therapeutic wisdom of yoga to help others nourish their path to wholeness. She has practiced yoga for over 15 years and was inspired to become a teacher after sharing the practice with her young niece.

Drawn to the therapeutic use of yoga practices that helped her with an injured shoulder and manage work stress, she spent three years immersed in the study of therapeutic yoga through the Yoga on High Teacher Training Institute in Columbus, Ohio. She has trained in using yoga practices such as asana, pranayama and meditation, to help with structural, mental and emotional issues and works with private clients suffering from chronic pain, anxiety, depression, trauma, and various issues affecting women.

For three years, Alyssa assisted in research studies on using yoga to manage chronic pain and PTSD with veterans in conjunction with the VA Medical Center and has worked one-on-one with patients in a specialized clinic at Eskenazi Health. She is an E-RYT 200/RYT 500 with the Yoga Alliance and a Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) with the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT). She is also certified in enzyme nutrition with the Food Enzyme Institute and certified in Thai Yoga Massage.

The yoga therapy components of my teaching are based on my C-IAYT designation from the International Association of Yoga Therapists, not derived from my status as an RYT200/E-RYT500 with Yoga Alliance.

Angelique was originally drawn to yoga to help ease chronic pain and return to an active and fit lifestyle after her back injury. While training to run half marathons, friends asked Angelique to teach them yoga to aid recovery and improve performance during training. After three years of teaching friends and family, she decided to deepen her yoga practice and completed coursework to gain certification to teach. She has completed her 500-hour Yoga Alliance certified training with Marsha Pappas, and is called to teach a restorative-healing yoga suitable for all levels. All people, bodies, and levels will enjoy and benefit from Angelique's teachings.

Excellent lead teachers with a wealth of experience and training who have a special interest in the therapeutic benefits of yoga.
